Moon Tower Inn finally makes some concrete plans: Reopening date set, 42 beertaps on the way
Concrete has never been this exciting.
Moon Tower fans have been waiting not-so-patiently ever since Houston's favorite gourmet hot dog stand shuttered unexpectedly in October. Now some pictures posted to Facebook and Instagram show that Moon Tower is getting ready to come back — and soon.
Shipping containers are are just the beginning. A water harvest system and multiple beer taps (42 to be exact) are being installed.
"SHIT GOT REAL THIS MORNING! SEE Y'ALL IN JULY!" was the official announcement that accompanied a picture of concrete being poured for slabs. As soon as the slabs are dry, they will hold Moon Tower's new shipping container buildings that are replacing the original East End structure.
This is the first time since October that Moon Tower Inn has given any indication of when it would be back in business, with an original three month hiatus quickly scrapped as renovation plans expanded.
Shipping containers are just the beginning. A water harvest system and multiple beer taps (42 to be exact) are being installed, and as previous Facebook posts have promised, Moon Tower is also setting up as an independent brewery. Last week, the owners revealed that the brewing equipment was in storage and ready to go as soon as the location is set up.
