Eat St. is filming food trucks in Houston: Where to find the crew
It's been less than three weeks since the hosts of Drinking Made Easy took a tour of Houston's drinking establishments, cameras (mostly) in tow, and there's already another television crew ready to check out the city.
Cooking Channel show Eat St. — a "celebration of North America's tastiest, messiest and most irresistible street food" — has Houston food trucks on their radar and it sounds like they like what they found.
"We shot in Houston a couple years ago, but there wasn't much happening and it was a bit of an underwhelming trip, to be totally honest," executive producer Peter Waal told Eater Houston. "When we checked again a couple of months ago we found more good vendors than we can possibly shoot. So clearly something has changed in Houston for the better, and whatever it is that's sparked things, we're happy to be coming back."
Filming starts Thursday at noon at The Modular outside Grand Prize Bar, and owner Josh Martinez is giving away free food to any fans that stop by. Unlike some shows that come through Houston in a day or two, Eat St. is staying throughout the extended weekend. Here's the rest of the schedule:
- Friday: Phamily Bites at Liberty Station, 5 p.m.
- Saturday: The Waffle Bus at Bo Concept, 11:30 a.m.
- Sunday: Rice Box Truck at MFAH Sculpture Garden, 11:30 a.m.
- Monday: Stick It at Inversion Coffee House, 12 p.m.
- Tuesday: St. John's Fire at Bo Concept, 11:30 a.m.

The mix of trucks highlighted is a nice mix of a couple longstanding faves and several relative newbies, plus a good mix of the locations that have helped the food truck scene grow by hosting them.
