Another longtime sushi restaurant suddenly closes: Is this food craze on the wane?
Zushi Japanese Cuisine — a longtime haunt of Houston sushi lovers — has ended its six-year run on Memorial Drive at Westcott. The restaurant's second location on Memorial at Dairy Ashford remains open for those in the Energy Corridor.
The always well-informed Sushi Club of Houston posted on Facebook that Zushi's popular executive chef Chris Nemoto is "moving on to different pastures. Not sushi related."
The Zushi news comes amidst Uchi's continuing rise in Montrose and Sushi Raku's sudden demise at the corner of Elgin and Louisiana in The Mix building.
Noted Raku chef Adison Lee announced this week he will be opening a new upscale Japanese restaurant named Kuu at Gateway Memorial City — a mixed-use development opening just west of the Memorial City Mall. For more on Kuu, read the complete CultureMap story.
