Trio Steakhouse makes three: Nafaa expands his empire in Vintage Park
If you've lived in Houston long enough, you've dined at a Youssef Nafaa restaurant. Between the quartet of Mia Bella Trattorias, Saffron, Midtown's Coco's Crepes and new Houston Pavilions hotspot Andalucia Tapas and Taverna (not to mention Mi Luna, Cielo, and Cava Bistro, which he started and sold), Nafaa's Bella Restaurants empire is hard to ignore.
But nowhere is Nafaa's stamp more indelible than in northwest Houston's Vintage Park. In addition to Mia Bella and a second Coco's Crepes, Nafaa just opened a brand-new concept in the shopping center: Trio Steakhouse & Bar.
In addition to standard steakhouse fare like prime rib, filet mignon, pan-seared sea scallops and Chilean sea bass, Trio branches out to some slightly more exotic (but equally decadent) entrees: Glazed duck, veal osso buco, and lamb and beef kebobs. In addition Trio will offer a sizeable menu of sandwiches on both the lunch and dinner menus, plus family-size portions of Chateaubriand, leg of lamb and rotisserie chicken and a chef's table with a selection of Trio meats.
The atmosphere inside Trio is reminiscent of Vintage Park itself: Some classical touches (in this case, plenty of wrought-iron banisters and some Tiffany-esque lamps) in an obviously contemporary space.
But Spring, Tomball and Klein residents don't seem to mind. Perhaps for Trio and Nafaa, three's a charm.
