The last ghetto supper: Storied Ghetto Dinners take one final bow at Grand Prizeto help Linda Salinas
The Ghetto Dinners served every other Monday last fall at Grand Prize Bar were legend.
But just as word got out that Adam Dorris and Will Walsh were serving the best deal in town — a gourmet meal on plastic plates — the dinners shuttered as Dorris got busy in the Stella Sola kitchen.
If you missed out on the fun, you've got one last chance to see what the fuss was all about while helping two great causes.
The last Ghetto Dinner is 8 p.m. Monday at Grand Prize Bar. Dorris and Walsh are cooking up a feast of crawfish, grilled boudin and "Will's 4-Generation NOLA gumbo."
The meal is $20 (or more if you want to make a donation) and all proceeds go to help Linda Salinas with her medical bills as well as to help epileptic dogs (a cause that Salinas is also involved in). Salinas is the beloved mixologist/Houston food champion who was involved in a serious scooter accident in the Heights.
So whether you're in it for the food, the cause or to hang with the foodie in-crowd, Grand Prize is the place to be.
