Tout Suite Expands
Popular EaDo bakery/cafe heads west to where it all began
One of EaDo's most popular dining destinations is heading west. Tout Suite will open a second location in Memorial City Mall, commercial real estate firm announced CBRE announced on Tuesday.
For owners Anne Le and Sandy Tran, the new location represents a homecoming of sorts. The duo opened their first concept, the coffee shop and bakery SWEET, in nearby CityCentre back in 2011.
"We are excited to bring all of our signature desserts and dishes to a location where shoppers can conveniently grab something to eat or take a seat at one of our community tables,” Tran said in a statement. “The menu will feature fresh, locally-sourced options that will be a healthy addition to the mall’s current dining options.”
The mall spot, which will be located near the skating rink and is slated to open this summer, will focus more exclusively on "grab and go" items rather than the fast casual model of service that's part of the EaDo location.
"Although Tout Suite's owners were originally a bit hesitant about locating within a mall, they were really drawn to the location’s family-based ownership and its history,” said CBRE's Brian Ashby. “Memorial City really resounded with Tout Suite’s ownership and they are excited for everyone in and near the area to come enjoy and experience their macarons, eye-opening caffeinated concoctions and home-grown brand of cool."
Maybe not quite as cool as Shake Shack opening in The Galleria, but, in the ongoing battle to improve mall dining from the bad old days of Sbarro and Panda Express, adding Tout Suite definitely gives people another reason to shop at Memorial City.
