Bryan Caswell and Ron Killen to battle it out in a Walmart parking lot: When topchefs tussle
That smell in the air last weekend? That's the scent of grilling season.
To inaugurate backyard barbecue time, Walmart is pitting top chefs against one another in a battle for steak supremacy.
In Houston, Reef's Bryan Caswell will be facing off against Ronnie Killen of Killen's Steakhouse. Killen's skill with steak is so prolific he recently cooked his trademark dish at the prestigious James Beard House. But while he might specialize in Gulf seafood, don't count out Caswell, who proved himself a grill expert hosting Best in Smoke on the Food Network.
The steak challenge takes place on April 24 at 11 a.m. outside the Walmart Supercenter in West Houston. The winner will be determined by shoppers at the event, who get to taste the sizzlers along with a Coke Zero.
The winning chef will move on to the finals of the "Walmart Choice Steak Challenge Presented by Kingsford Charcoal and Coca-Cola," competing against the winners from seven other cities for the ultimate meaty glory.
Who do you think makes a better steak, Bryan Caswell or Ronnie Killen? Who makes your favorite steak in Houston?
