Dish Society Expands Again
Farm-to-table neighborhood cafe adds third location with large patio
Dish Society is on the move again. The farm-to-table neighborhood restaurant with locations in Tanglewood and Katy will open its third location in the Memorial Green mixed-use development.
Dish Society owner Aaron Lyons said in a statement that he sees the new outpost, which is located between Memorial City Mall and CityCentre, as a way to reach an area of town where people might already be familiar with the restaurant while avoiding the traffic associated with the established shopping centers.
"It was clear when I started doing market research on the area that it desperately needs a casual, easily accessible neighborhood spot that's cool and also kid friendly, a place folks can go several times a week." Lyons said.
When it opens in the spring of 2017, the restaurant's 4,000-square feet will make it the largest Dish Society location. A 1,300-square foot patio will provide an additional 100 seats. Expect the same mix of counter service breakfast and lunch with full service at dinner that has been successful at the other two locations. Like Katy, the Memorial Green location will feature a full bar with a focus on Texas beers and craft cocktails.
The new location's larger size will also allow the restaurant to operate a commissary kitchen to maintain consistency between all three outposts and provide for future growth. If all goes according to plan, Lyons will add a fourth location in 2017 and two more restaurants in 2018.
"The first two locations were rough drafts," Lyons concluded. "This store will be a lot closer to my vision. It's exciting."
