Sylvia's Enchilada Kitchen owner shot; police search for her boyfriend assuspect
Sad news in the Houston food community today. Sylvia's Enchilada Kitchen owner Sylvia Casares was shot and wounded at her home in Fulshear on Monday night.
The Fort Bend County Sheriff's office would not comment on the investigation, but the department has issued a warrant for Casares' boyfriend, Michael Warren, for aggravated assault.
According to a crime report, Warren fled the scene of the shooting on Monday night before police arrived. He is considered armed and dangerous and believed to be driving a black 2004 GMC Yukon with Texas license plate number 42MVT1.
As first reported by the Houston Press' Katharine Shilcutt, Casares was shot in the abdomen and taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where according to sources she is in stable condition and expected to survive.
Warren worked in Sylvia's restaurants and was a fixture on the Sylvia's Enchilada Kitchen No Borders truck. Those with information on his whereabouts should contact the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office at 281-341-4665.
