Considering how food trucks are fundamentally changing the urban food landscape, it was only a matter of time before someone compiled a list of the best mobile eateries around the country — a moveable Zagat feast, if you will.
Smithsonian magazine surveyed trucks from San Francisco to New York, and amid famous trucks like Kogi in Los Angeles and Paul Qui's East Side King in Austin, Coreanos is the only food truck operating in Houston that made the list, coming in at No. 8.
Coreanos has been an Austin favorite for a couple years, but most Houstonians have yet to experience their Korean-Mexican fusion. Spin-off Coreanos Houston, run by returning Austinite Louis Cantu, had its Houston debut at Southern Star's Open the Taps brewery but hasn't hit the streets just yet. So while Smithsonian's ranking was technically for the Austin location, the Houston truck should be just as good.
Have you tried Coreanos yet? What other Houston food trucks do you think should be on the list?
