Perry’s Steakhouse brings in the Sugar Hooker for a dessert menu revamp
Great news, food fans. There’s a new dessert destination in town.
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille has revamped its lengthy dessert menu — keeping the signature favorites, dropping the low hangers, and adding an enticing array of new classics.
Fabulous pastry-chef-about-town Rebecca Masson, aka the Sugar Hooker, helped to overhaul the list, adding four stunning creations. Each is a sort of nostalgic dish, hurtling us back through time to the desserts of our youth. Here’s a verbal sneak peek of the new sensations.
Rocky Road Bread Pudding – A beautifully baked butterscotch bread pudding studded with chocolate chips in a thick caramel sauce. It’s topped with a massive, toasted homemade marshmallow, complementing the pillowy consistency. Delicious decadence.
Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Candy Bar Pie – This one’s for the chocolate aficionados among you: Rich peanut butter and chocolate mousse atop a crunchy cookie crust, topped with thick hot fudge and candied peanuts. Looks like a candy bar; tastes a jabillion times better.
Deconstructed Lemon Meringue Pie – Lemon pudding topped with toasted meringue, gingered blueberries, and shortbread crumbles. The pudding has an amazing lemony flavor that’s neither too sweet nor too tart; the creamy meringue is a baseball-sized glob of heaven.
Grown-Up Milk and Cookies – A dreamy Maker’s Mark milkshake served with fresh-from-the-oven chocolate chip cookies. This one isn’t on the daily menu, but rather makes cameo appearances on weekends and special occasions.
Restaurants change their savory menus regularly, but often overlook the post-meal bite. It’s nice to find a place that’s updating its sweets with the times.
In addition to the four new creations, Perry’s will continue to offer its signature flaming desserts, plus a few old standbys. Enjoy!
