The plan to convert the West U land currently leased as the parking lot to Goode Company Seafood into a two-story Molina's restaurant and joint parking garage has stalled indefinitely, reports InstantNewsWestU.com.
West U resident Mike Gallagher has been in talks with the city of West University since last summer to acquire a 15-year lease for the site, aiming to bring popular local Tex-Mex chain Molina's back to West U. Molina's closed their Buffalo Speedway location—now the site of the H-E-B Buffalo Market—in May 2008.
But City Councilman Chuck Guffey told reporter Angela Grant that the plan has fallen by the wayside due to "complications" involving Goode Company, and that most likely the city would wait for the current Goode Company lease to expire in three years before deciding what to do with the land.
