Familiar Allen Parkway-area apartments refresh and reboot with a total social design and vibe
A familiar, four-story residential building near Allen Parkway has undergone a major reboot and refresh, with a new approach to intentional, community living. (In short, a total hang.)
What was formerly known as City Vista, a 404-unit complex at 2221 W. Dallas St., has been now been rebranded as Us Bayou Park, styled under the club living concept by Vero Sade, a Houston-based lifestyle development firm.
Just what do terms like "club living" and "lifestyle development" actually mean in this case? The entire building's focus — from amenities to activities and workspaces and fitness areas — is meant to foster and fuel relationship building, per an announcement.
A whole vibe
That "relationship building" focus is bad news for agoraphobic types, but good news for social, outgoing folk who enjoy meeting new people, inviting friends over, or (gasp) swiping to meet potential dates. Vero Sade put so much thought into the project that that the firm crafted "experiential design, a calendar of eclectic, connection-driven happenings, and thoughtfully curated amenities, including elevated and health-centric food and beverage components," per press materials.
Vero Sade also pushes what it dubs "engagement pillars": social, wellness, food and beverage, growth, and giving back. That push also extends through partnerships with local brands, organizations, experts, mixologists, and chefs who want to mix it up with the Us Bayou Park crowd.
Up in the club
A 10,000-square-foot communal space is meant to be the Us Bayou Park hub and morph into day to night activations including guest speakers, cocktail tastings, volunteer activities, and more. A central bar anchors the lobby and a nearby coffee, juice, and sandwich shop keeps residents nourished. Speaking of cocktails, plans call for programs running late week through weekend.
All that eating and imbibing will mean burning off those calories at the 4,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art fitness center complete with an adjacent, outdoor yoga green space. Fitness classes include yoga, HIIT, strength training, and private sessions. More outdoor living includes a dog park with dog run and spa and a sundeck furnished with grills and a pizza oven. Two resort-style pools offer a chance to dive in, while cabanas furnished by Italian interior retailer CASA Houston bring that club life to the apartments.
Elemental living
As for the actual apartments, each unit boasts open-concept floorplans from 691 to 1,454 square feet. Large windows allow for natural light. Layouts offer walk-in closets, separate living and dining areas, and chef-inspired kitchens with premium cabinetry, upgraded LG stainless steel appliances ,and charcoal quartz countertops. Bathrooms flow with spa-like touches such as floor-to-ceiling gray stone tile, matte black faucets, framed mirrors, and more. Swiss Krono engineered oak flooring keeps things minimal — and clean.
Currently, Us Bayou Park is 80-percent leased. Unfurnished units start in the $1700s per month; luxury condo furnished residences are available for short-term stays. Another draw, the building is just off Allen Parkway and near Buffalo Bayou Park, Montrose, the Museum District, Upper Kirby, and the Heights. In short, a YP's dream spot.
“Us Bayou Park is Vero Sade’s first step in rethinking the transactional nature of traditional multifamily environments,” said Vero Sade co-founders Daniel Bassichis and Yoni Sade in a statement. “It also begins to lay the groundwork for a network of properties that we’ve conceived to foster human connection and enhance overall well-being.”
