New Houston area master-planned community to boast crazy amenities: An over-the-top Las Vegas dream?
Amenities at a newly revealed Cane Island 1,000-acre master-planned community in Katy off Interstate 10 at the under-construction Cane Island Interchange go far beyond the usual.
Perhaps that's why Rise Communities LLC, originally a Las Vegas-based developer now moving offices to Katy, chose this slogan for the local venture: "Everything you want . . . and nothing you expect."
Rise Communities broke ground on Cane Island on Nov. 19 with seven home builders ready to construct 2,000 traditional, patio and custom homes priced from $200,000 to $750,000-plus. The company is boasting location, location, location for the community, such as 30 minutes from downtown and 15 minutes to the Energy Corridor District and boundaries within the Katy ISD.
An interactive map on the Cane Island website shows the master layout between Bartlett and Franz roads with many grand entry features such as fountains, ponds and even colorful "living archways" spanning the streets leading to the property to create a "sense of arrival."
More in store for Cane Island homeowners include the Amenity Village with amphitheater, 1,500-square-foot conservatory modeled after the Bellagio Conservatory in Las Vegas and the Ambassador's Suite, where Hub, "reared from a long line of prominent diplomatic pooches," is to extend invitations to select guests and dignitaries to his private luxury cottage. The concept is based on the dog ambassador welcome program at the Fairmont Hotel in Boston.
Of course, residents will find other amenities expected from master-planned communities, such as a welcome center, fitness center, yoga space, multipurpose space, outdoor cafe and pools. Cane Island is expected to open in mid-2015.
Pre-grand opening incentives are available by signing up on the website. A mobile amenity center is to be located onsite beginning 10 a.m.-5 p.m. this Saturday and noon-5 p.m. this Sunday and the same times on following weekends.
