Retail Rumblings
So sweet: Nordstrom Rack plans expansion to Sugar Land for second Houston-arealocation
Nordstrom Rack is expanding. The retailer, which carries discounted items from Nordstrom and Nordstrom.com, is opening its second Houston-area location in Sugar Land Oct. 6 at the Market at Town Center.
As a Sugar Land resident, (gasp! I’m OTL!) the opening of the Nordstrom Rack means I’m bound to score excellent deals on Dana Davis shoes, which at a starting regular price of $425 aren’t in my budget, but at under $200, certainly are.
There’s minimal digging at Nordstrom Rack too, which means I can find Michael Kors, BCBG Max Azria, premium denim, clothes for my kids, men’s clothing, accessories and shoes at 50 to 60 percent off regular Nordstrom prices. Rack buyers also negotiate with vendors for first run items specifically for Rack stores at 30 to 70 percent off.
Like at any off-price store, it might take multiple visits to find that special item, but persistent shoppers can find real bargains.
As with all Nordstrom Rack openings, a customer will be chosen for the 'Race Through the Rack' sweepstakes and given 90 seconds to select up to $2,000 worth of merchandise, on opening day.
