Familiar downtown tower peps up with new major makeover
Downtown office workers, take note: A familiar tower will soon see some major upgrades, developers announced. Total Plaza, the 35-story structure located at 1201 Louisiana St., will receive updates to the tunnel, street, and second floor lobby levels, according to Brookfield Properties.
Renovations will include new floor and wall finishes, new lighting and ceilings, modern finishes in the elevator cabs and lobbies, upgraded furniture and security console, and new signage on the interior and exterior of the property, per a release.
Construction begins summer 2019 and will be completed in early 2020. Ziegler Cooper Architects will head up the project.
Diners can look forward to a new Island Grill, which is slated to open in 2020. The plaza has already seen improvements, such as a new state-of-the-art fitness facility, adjacent bike room, and destination elevator dispatch.
As CultureMap previously reported, Brookfield Properties has been busy downtown, performing massive and sweeping transformations of Houston Center and Allen Center. Both projects aim to turn the historic plazas into bustling mixed-use hubs.
