CityCentre just won't stop growing: Hot mixed-use development adds another tower
Development at CityCentre from Houston-based Midway Companies can't be stopped, with construction expected to begin on CityCentre Five just after CityCentre Four reaches completion this summer.
Midway CEO Jonathan Brinsden tells CultureMap that the company foresees a continued need for Class A office space at the development in the area. The typical corporate tenant at CityCentre is smaller than the multinational oil and gas companies down the road in the booming Energy Corridor, but is attracted to the amenity-rich environment that the mixed-use development offers.
CityCentre Five will take over the prime property where Luby's currently stands at 825 Town & Country Way, following the expiration of the restaurant's lease. Crews are expected to break ground this fall, but a timeline has not been set for completion.
The eight-story building, designed by Houston-based Kirksey Architecture, will comprise 195,000 square feet of office space with restaurant and retail tenants on the ground floor. Three floors of the office component will feature 20-foot ceilings, and the structure will incorporate parking for office tenants.
