Hans Bier Haus for sale: For a cool $200,000, the bocce court & Robinhood feudcan be yours
Is there nothing sacred?
Hans Bier Haus is for sale. The Rice Village beer garden, popular for its selection of brews and bocce court and in operation for more than 15 years, is listed on BizBuySell for an asking price of $200,000.
(Although the popular neighborhood bar isn't listed by name, the description matches the text on the Hans Bier Haus website exactly, and we confirmed with a manager that the bar is "entertaining offers.")
Swamplot first noticed the BizBuySell bar listing and posted a blind item asking readers to guess which inner-Loop bar was up for grabs. CultureMap stopped by Hans for a beer to ask the owners for comment, but they weren't around and we talked to the manager.
Those who've followed the ongoing conflict between the next-door Robinhood Condominiums and Hans know what Bier Haus partners Paul Kellogg, Jackie Benson and Bill Cave have been dealing with — nearly losing their liquor license last summer as a result of the turf war.
The BizBuySell entry lists "partner dissolution" as the reason for selling.
