A mobile photo booth developed by a Houston couple has made the list of 50 Coolest New Businesses in America.
Business Insider compiled the list, after searching "high and low in all corners of the country for the most innovative new businesses that opened within the last five years or so," according to the authors of the article.
They included PhotoMoto, a mobile photo booth operated out of a restored 1978 Volkswagen bus that is based in Houston. "People can book PhotoMoto for events and parties, and husband and wife duo Austin and Brittany Havican will drive the bus right to the event," the authors said, in citing the cool factor.
In a 2013 CultureMap story, the Havicans explained how they purchased the bus earlier that year and spent three months doing repairs to turn it into a mobile photo booth. "It's as easy to use as your average kiosk: Slide into the back bench, smile for the camera, pose for four frames and watch the strips print out — about a minute from start to finish," reporter Whitney Radley wrote.
The only other Texas establishment on the list is Trinity Groves, a dining theme park in Dallas.
