More stores join CultureMap's first-ever Fashion on Sale

The list of boutiques offering unbelievable bargains at CultureMap's first-ever Fashion On Sale weekend just keeps growing. Among the 30 stores to take part in the fun at West Ave at River Oaks on Jan. 13-15 are J. Silver, Itsy Bitsy Boutique, Vintage Contessa, Times Too, Marlo Miller Boutique, Squared Away and Mirta Tummino Studio.

They will join such previously announced stores as Tootsies, Carrie Ann, Atrium, 7 for all Mankind, Elaine Turner, Coquette, Cheeky Vintage, Lot 8, One Green Street and à bientôt offering good deals on end-of-the season clothing and accessories.

Among the 30 stores to join in the fun at West Ave at River Oaks on Jan 13-15 are J. Silver, Itsy Bitsy Boutique, Vintage Contessa, Times Too, Marlo Miller Boutique, Squared Away and Mirta Tummino Studio.

Wait there's more: Mary Nichols Handbags, Woody's Furs, Hello Lucky, Alexandra Knight Handbags, the Blue Jeans Bar, Korcula, Pomp and Circumstance, Rent the Runway, Squared Away and the Do Bar will also offer items at discounted prices at the ultimate pop up shop.

The lastest trends for spring will also be previewed, with fashion presentations by Marlo Miller Boutique, David Peck, Elaine Turner, Tootsies and Hello Lucky and beauty demonstrations from Cerón, Edward Sanchez and Azur West. On-site beauty services will be offered, along with a complimentary gift bag to every shopper at the three-day event, presented by Momentum Audi.

Admission ranges from $20 entry (for both weekend days) to $75 for a VIP shopping party Jan. 13, with a portion of proceeds going to Child Advocates. Early entry on Saturday morning is $40 (with entry on Sunday included). For more details and to purchase tickets, click here.

While the sale concentrates exclusively on women's clothing, men are welcomed to the shopping center for a "man cave experience." Alto Pizzeria, Eddie V's, Pondicheri and Cru Wine Bar will offer drink and food specials and Q Custom Clothier/Rye 51 will offer complimentary beer. If you spend $500 at Rye 51, you'll receive a complimentary custom shirt at Q (a $150 value). A man cave wristband good for all three days is $12.

Texas handbag brand Consuela debuts clear collection for stadium use

These bags fashionably comply with stadium rules.

Transparency is key for this new stadium-friendly product line by Austin handbag brand Consuela. The new line recreates the brand's top-selling silhouettes in a clear material that makes them easy to carry at venues with long security lines.

This is the first time Consuela has produced clear bags, press materials say.

It's certainly possible to pack any small bag and spend a minute on a security check at the gate, but if attendees want to carry more, sometimes venues require a clear bag; at Reliant Stadium, for example, a non-see-through bag can only be four-and-a-half inches by six-and-a-half inches or smaller.

Each clear Consuela bag has a bit of personality thanks to a printed, opaque strip of material across the top and a colorful strap that's interchangeable for different carrying styles: wearing the bag crossbody, on the shoulder, or as a clutch. Leather accents also elevate each piece, which contains interior pockets, a credit card holder, and a removable piece that gives the base structure or, when it's removed, allows the bag to collapse.

With three shapes and three patterns or colorways, there are nine distinct bags in the collection. The largest style is 11 inches by nine and a quarter inches, with a three-inch depth. Two smaller styles are more clutch-sized. The top material can show off a colorful paisley-like design, leopard print, or an understated cream leather to match the rest of the trim.

The new collection ($125-235) is available now at consuelastyle.com. Shoppers can also check the bags out in person at Consuela's Katy store at 23501 Cinco Ranch Boulevard. Other retailers selling Consuela bags can be found through the brand's store locator.
