Diane Lokey Farb honored as Fashion Houston Style Icon, with help fromValentino, Oscar and Chanel
With a little help from Valentino, Oscar de la Renta and Chanel, Diane Lokey Farb was honored as the Fashion Houston 2012 Style Icon Thursday night at the Wortham Center. Farb, whose collection of designer clothing is legendary, showcased more than 20 of her favorites in a video tribute before a standing-room-only audience.
As a large group of her BFF's wildly applauded, Farb strolled — and even danced a bit — on the runway with Fashion Houston creative director Neal Hamil and Fashion Houston CEO Jared Lang to conclude the four-night runway extravaganza.

In previous years, select looks of fashion iconsLynn Wyatt andBecca Cason Thrashhave been displayed on mannequins or models when they were awarded the honor. But this year organizers wanted to do something different — plus even the svelte models couldn't fit into Farb's size 0 designer creations.
So they created a video highlighting Farb in some of her favorite looks. Videographers photographed more than 40 outfits and edited them down for the presentation.
Among the stunners: A royal blue Oscar de la Renta princess gown with ruffled skirt, a glittery gown by Marchesa that People magazine named one of the top 10 best gowns when worn by actress Olivia Wilde at the 2011 Golden Globes, a kicky Chanel tweed ensemble with matching newsboy cap which Farb was among the first to purchase directly off the Paris runway this summer, and a Zuhair Murad tulle and chiffon creation that it took a year for her to get because the designer is so exclusive.
Also included were several gowns by the legendary Valentino before he retired in 2007. "There's nothing like real Valentino," Farb asserted.
On this big night, Farb chose a black Miu Miu minidress that sparkled with jeweled mirrors all along the front. She ordered it in June and says it is the only one of its kind in the United States.
Farb says she favors "very feminine, flowing dresses" and is known to buy an outfit after seeing it on a mannequin or on the red carpet without trying it on first.
"I'm very attracted to something immediately," she said. "If I have to think twice about it, it's not for me."
Among those cheering Farb on were Patsy and Greg Fourticq and son Gregory Fourticq, Robert Sakowitz, Laura Casey, Courtney Hopson, Cindi Rose, Ceron, Melissa Mithoff, Rosemarie Johnson, Debbie Festari, Shannon Hall, Becca Cason Thrash and Elizabeth Petersen.
