Alligator satin cocktail dress makes quite the fashion statement among Houston's Women of Distinction
When stepping into the spotlight as an ABC Channel 13 Woman of Distinction, the ladies find that the pressure is on to look their very best. No one did it better at the announcement party at Saks Fifth Avenue than Nancy Strohmer.
With the guidance of stylist Brianna Hurdle, Strohmer stepped out in elegant simplicity wearing a stunning asymmetrical alligator-satin cocktail sheath by Reed Krakoff, a purchase from Saks. The alligator print is Krakoff's environmentally-friendly approach to the consumer's taste for dressing on the wild side. His collection includes python and gator printed dresses, skirts and even sweatshirts in what the designer refers to as "Reed alligator."

Strohmer's accessories included a gold cuff from Saks, Chanel earrings and pumps by BCBG.
Among her many community activities, which led to Strohmer being named a Woman of Distinction, is her role with the University of Houston Moores School of Music. As a board member she chairs the Oct. 10 "Rev Up for Moores" luncheon. Add the Houston Symphony League, American Contract Bridge League and the World Affairs Council of Houston to her dance card.
