New Houston fashion festival brings chic NYC style to H-Town

Fashion in all its forms is on display this week in Houston’s Memorial District with the unveiling of the Autumn/Winter 2019 collection from notable and emerging designers.
Fashion District Festival Houstonis a chance for lovers of gorgeous clothes, interior design, and overall beauty to be part of interactive presentations, live streaming events, and a host of other opportunities. Participating designers include Elaine Turner and Kendra Scott — among others.
On the agenda, a DJ party, gem stone pop quiz, and Kendra Scott shopping experience on September 19 at 7 pm; a fashion show that previews the new Elaine Turner collection on September 20 at 5 pm, a gentleman’s pop-up shop with a DJ and goodies at Allen Edmonds on September 22 at 3 pm; and the VIP closing ceremony on September 23 at 10 p.m.
Fashion District Festival Houston’s 50-acre venue grounds will make for carefully curated events at diverse venues. Participants can bank on gorgeous city view attractions, charitable fundraisers, and exclusive after-parties featuring appearances by published supermodels, national recording artists, pro athletes, music icons, actors, designers, and other notables.
The inaugural festival is modeled after New York’s famed Fashion Week. In addition to the shows and parties, look for include a hand curated fashion market, exclusive in-store events, a VIP celebrity daytime soiree, fashion and beauty workshops, and panel discussions. The Fashion District Houston: TALK Series includes an array of designers, artists, stylists, and creatives.
Another perk: Proceeds from some of the weeks’ events will benefit Toxin Youth Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to cultivating creativity in young people.

Fashion District Festival Houston events run through Sunday, September 23. Passes may be purchased for single days, the entire week or for the weekend. Passes start at $50.
