H&M sets opening date for CityCentre store, launches recycled denim line
Swedish fast fashion retailer H&M has announced the opening date for it's fifth Houston-area location, as well as introducing a line of new denim styles made using recycled cotton.
The grand opening of the 20,000-square-foot store at CityCentre is set for Thursday, September 10. As part of the opening celebration, the first 200 shoppers in line will receive an H&M T-shirt and "Access to Fashion Pass," a gift card valued between $10 and $200.
The CityCentre location will feature clothing for the entire family, with collections ranging from ladies, mens, cosmetics, young ladies and young mens, as well as including separate "store within a store" sections for accessories, lingerie and sports apparel. The store will also feature H&M's children's collection with clothing for newborns through children age 14.
The retailer's other Houston-area locations include stores at The Galleria, Baybrook Mall, Willowbrook Mall and Katy Mills. The CityCentre location will be H&M's 15th store in Texas.
In addition to the new CityCenter location, the retailer announced that it will introduce 16 new denim styles made using recycled cotton from textiles collected in H&M's Garment Collecting initiative. The new denim pieces, made from recycled and organic cotton, include three styles of jeans for women — including a skinny, distressed and 'girlfriend' style — as well as a denim jacket, flared dungarees and a denim jumpsuit.
For men, garments include a zip-up denim jacket, along with two distressed slim leg styles, and a pair of denim joggers in coated denim. Kids styles include a zip-up hoodie with animal ears, stretch jeans with sequin detailing at the knee, a street style hooded shirt and distressed jeans.
H&M stated in a press release that the brand is committed to exclusively using organic cotton in all of its collections by 2020.
