River Oaks District glams up its look with New York-based fashion house
The River Oaks District is about to become even more fashionable, thanks to the arrival of Manhattan-based Veronica Beard. The contemporary clothing designer will open its doors in the District sometime in August, bringing with it its signature styles that pair luxury and functionality for professional women.
The store is the first Veronica Beard to open in Houston; two years ago, the brand hit the streets up the road in Dallas.
The new store will occupy 1,750 square feet in the high-end shopping enclave, which also includes retailers such as Dolce & Gabbana, Harry Winston, Hermes, Jo Malone, and Tom Ford.
Shoppers should look for the brand's signature tailored jackets, blouses, pants, outerwear, and shoes. Their contemporary prints paired with sleek cuts add a whimsical sophistication ought to win legions of new fans in the Bayou City.
“We have learned so much about the Veronica Beard customer since first opening our flagship Dallas store in 2017," said co-founder Veronica Miele Beard, in a statement. "Considering the loyal customer base we have cultivated in the Houston area, River Oaks District felt like a natural evolution for the brand.”
Veronica Beard debuted on the fashion scene in 2010, with the Dickey Jacket, whose sleek lines and tailored fit made it an instant hit. Intensely feminine and always contemporary, the brand has grown to offer a full range of women's clothing and shoes.
The company also boasts an interesting tidbit: The name comes from the two fab and fashionable founders and sisters-in-law — who are both Veronica Beards: the aforementioned Miele Beard and Veronica Swanson Beard.
