Where to shop right now: 10 must-hit stores with big July sales and new products
The summer heat has officially set in, so update your wardrobe at these hot Houston stores and continue to keep yourself cool well into fall. Since it's mid-summer, a lot of shops are offering big sales, too.
Renovations at its former site has forced Be-Jewel into a temporary location at 4100 Westheimer (next to Kiran's restaurant) with lots of pre-fall offerings. The edgy fashion boutique, bringing international fashion to Houston since 2005, carries such designers as ELM, Ivan Grundahl, Rundholz, Sarah Pacini and more.
UGG Australia opens in The Galleria
UGG Australia, which ironically hails from Southern California, has opened its first Houston store at The Galleria (Level II near Macy's). The new boutique features the entire collection of the distinctive men’s, women’s and children’s boots, shoes, slippers, sandals, accessories, apparel and loungewear.
Cakewalk Style Shop is a fresh boutique for finding the best in contemporary women’s clothing. Located inside the Loop at 2604 Persa, #3, Cakewalk offers handpicked looks from designers such as Haute Hippie, Vince, Equipment, Mother Denim, Joie and Superga.
The creative founders, stylist Jennifer Grigsby and Charmed Circle jewelry designer Gina Cartwright, opened the brick and mortar shop after a year of developing their online store.
Neiman Marcus MacKenzie-Childs sale
Neiman’s marks its summer sale of distinguishable MacKenzie-Childs collectible enamels. Take 25 percent off regular priced Flower Market patterned items throughout the month of July to add a little French Country chic to your home.
Uptown Park’s Carrie Ann Boutique for style savvy women of all ages and shapes now brings unique, sophisticated West Coast collections and accessories for you and your dog. Ladies get your pedicure ready, as new items include Yosi Samra canvas flip-flops, on sale this month for $50.
Nordstrom Beauty Bash and Anniversary Sale
Nordstrom Houston Galleria is throwing a Beauty Bash on July 19 from 5 to 8 pm. Customers can visit the complimentary blow-out bar, nail bar, facial bar, lash bar and brow bar, learn the latest beauty tips and tricks from their favorite brands, and grab an exclusive goodie bag. It’s a great way to kick off the weekend — and the Anniversary Sale.
The Anniversary Sale isn’t a clearance sale, though — it’s a unique opportunity to shop brand new merchandise at amazing prices (and to stock up on fall must-haves before the season even starts). Prices only last two weeks; after that all Anniversary Sale merchandise will return to full-price Aug. 5.
SAM and Lilli, the hip men’s and women’s contemporary clothing boutique in West Ave, is having a summer sale running all month. Prices on such trendy brands as Plenty by Tracy Reese, McGinn, Graham & Spencer and Erin Fetherston are slashed 35 to 70 percent.
The concept of La Mochi was born in 2012 out of owner Sarah Zadeh's passion for traveling and love for discovering different artistic communities along the way. The Houston native set out to create an online boutique housing one-of-a-kind handmade pieces, supporting and promoting independent artists and designers around the world, while providing unique original functional art pieces for her clients.
The boutique now features Colombian Wayuu Mochila bags made by an indigenous artisan group in the Northeast region of a county called Guajira.
French favorite Lacoste is expanding its women’s shoe line this fall with a new sneaker wedge arriving at Nordstrom in mid-July. It has a hiking boot-inspired look, with ripple sole, two-toned laces and lace hooks, that is fresh for fall.
The Italian luxury label Miu Miu has opened a boutique inside Saks Fifth Avenue. Houston fashionistas can now find items that the Miu Miu Houston Galleria store might not carry, as well as exclusive pieces available only at Saks.
