Sales are good, but sales with lots of extras are even better. And who says retail is gloomy? A certain men’s boutique is moving on up.
Muse's Sneak Peek
Muse Boutique is kicking off its Back Room Blowout sale with a sneak peek party Wednesday. Roberta Freymann, 12th Street by Cynthia Vincent, Eva Franco, and Rory Beca are priced up to 70 percent off and for those who want first dibs on the duds, the party is from 6-8 p.m. with complimentary brow shaping by makeup artist Craig McLemore, raffle items from Muse and a Michael Kemper Salon/Christi Harris Beauty Playground.
A portion of the sales benefits The Women’s Home. Can’t make it by Wednesday? The sale continues through Saturday.
Sloan/Hall's Happy Birthday
Sloan/Hall has been a favorite for fresh jewelry, accessories, books and other of life’s little joys for the past 17 years, but when there’s a sale, it’s just that much better. Through Saturday, everything in the store is at least 20 percent off and other items are marked up to 50 percent off.
Mortar's Big Move
A few months ago Mortar, a no-nonsense men’s boutique opened on Westheimer and quickly became a favorite place for men who prefer a modern and mature style. The store has grown so popular, owners Iris Trent Siff and Sacha Nelson are packing up and laying a new foundation-just across the street at 1911 Westheimer.
The duo is holding a housewarming Saturday from 4-7 p.m. There are many lines to shop from, but during the party Activism, Falling Whistles and TOMS Shoes will be marked 25 percent off. Fusion Taco will be on hand serving free tacos and there also will be beer for the grownups and ice cream for the little people on hand.
