BHLDN chooses to woo Houston brides with its first ever brick-and-mortar store
Here comes BHLDN, all dressed in shades of creamy white, lace and elegant touches, to Highland Village. The highly-anticipated bridal boutique is slated to open its first free-standing location in the United States on Aug. 18, just two spaces down from its sister store Anthropologie.
BHLDN’s wedding gowns are confections for the modern bride that stray far away from the typical princess poof or beach sheath. Lace, layering, color and creative draping are hallmarks of the collection that is simultaneously fresh and yet still vintage. The store’s head-to-toe approach includes lingerie, shoes, jewelry, special occasion dresses, accessories and décor, which means non-brides can also shop at the boutique.
A Febuary 2011 Women's Wear Daily article reported the stores will be smaller than Anthropologie's at 3,000 and 4,000 square feet, with just two or three stores planned to open each year.
The BHLDN public relations team says Houston is a “very important” market and brides can expect big things for its mid-August roll out. The company is still finalizing details about the location and opening events, but the rep tells CultureMap that the opening will indeed be a day to remember.
