Sock it to him! Celebrate 25th anniversary of George H.W. Bush presidency with fab footwear
This year marks the 25th anniversary of George H.W. Bush’s presidency, and unless you’re a daredevil like the man himself, you probably won’t be celebrating this milestone by skydiving. Instead, check out these commemorative new socks featuring an American flag and “41” on each ankle (Bush was the nation's 41st president), available at M Penner.
The cost: $41, naturally.
The longtime Houston retailer will donate its portion of sales to the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum in College Station, the only other location selling the signature apparel.
Bush’s foundation contacted designer V.K. Nagrani to create the socks, since the former president is a huge fan of his fancy footwear. As Bush once said, “I’m a sock man.”
He's so known for his affinity for crazy-colored footwear that for his 89th birthday celebration last year, the hashtag #41s89th was created to share pictures of tweeters wearing festive socks to wish him well. Among the well wishers:
