Model Rocks The Galleria
Hot new store brings in a DJ model, a cocktail king and lovely ladies to make a Galleria splash
Fashionably late was Madewell's entrance into the Houston retail scene, but stylish ladies (and a few dapper guys) welcomed the store with open arms and flutes of champagne at a grand opening party.
The event was co-hosted by Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, which received a portion of the proceeds from sales on Tuesday night. And with a store full of summery separates, colorful prints and chambray in every shade — plus an adorable polka dot clutch promised to the first customers — it was impossible to resist.
Model and DJ Athenz spun the tunes while Blake Jorgensen, manager and head mixologist at Prohibition, served up cocktails for guests, who were greeted by host committee members Victoria Ridgway, Olivia Junell and Caroline Starry LeBlanc. Calvin Kyrkostas from The Bosco was on hand to print shoppers' artful Instagram photos tagged with #madewellhouston.
The sartorially smart Carrie Cook, Diana Stewart, Natalie Svacina, Elina Htun and Paula Siegel were among those browsing the racks, while Kerri Curtis and Selena Demps assisted shoppers with one-on-one styling sessions.
Also toasting to the opening of the newest Madewell were Christine Cha-Sartori, Rachel Atkins, Lauren Rutledge, Jordan Foley, Davon Hatchett, Norris Williams and Pat McFarland.
