    Elizabeth Rhodes
    May 15, 2014 | 11:06 am

Everyone knows April showers bring May flowers, but it also brings great shopping opportunities, too. With new boutiques, a consignment shop and exclusive spring collections, CultureMap has rounded up the 10 best shopping events this month just for you.

    Kiehl's at the Woodlands Mall

Legendary skincare brand Kiehl's just opened a new 800-square-foot store in The Woodlands Mall. Since its founding in New York's East Village in 1851, Kiehl's has been crafting skin and hair care products out of the finest natural ingredients. Find everything from anti-wrinkle cream and fragrances to styling products and after shave at the new store, located on the lower level of the mall near the under-construction Nordstrom.

    Cuatro at 2314 Bissonnet

After starting The Find pop-up fashion market in 2008 and founding natural gas brokerage firm Trés Energy in 2009, Chelsea Dreyer has moved on to operate Cuatro, her own brick-and-mortar consignment store. The store is inspired by Round Top's eclectic aesthetic, featuring a mix of French country, Texana, mid-century modern and industrial pieces.

Prices at Cuatro range from only a few dollars to a couple thousand.

    Mio-Boutique at 1848 Westheimer

Newly opened Mio-Boutique truly is a fashionista's paradise. From beautifully printed Mara Hoffman rompers to neon silk shirtdresses from Mitchell Mason, Mio is the perfect place for a luxury shopping spree. Find the right outfit for any spring or summer occasion at the new store, which also offers exquisite jewelry pieces and handbags.

    WildBloom Boutique

Rice Village's WildBloom Boutique just celebrated its one-year anniversary with a ton of new summer additions. The stunning dress selection features styles from casual to cocktail so you can find the perfect dress for any occasion.

Check out WildBloom's wide selection of fashion-forward and fun clothing at its 2513 Rice Boulevard store.

    G-Star RAW at The Galleria

Netherlands-based denim purveyor G-Star RAW recently opened a new 1,700-square foot store in the Galleria. The sleek, modern shop offers G-Star's signature 3D raw denim for men and women, crafted for an expert fit and comfortable stretch.

You can find everything from denim jackets and cotton tees to high-top sneakers and stylish eyewear at its exclusive Houston-area location.

Exclusive Collections at Sam and Lilli

West Ave boutique Sam and Lilli recently introduced a number of exclusive collections. The new spring collections include those from Paris designers Elsa Esturgie, Stephanie Vaille, Manuelle Guibal, Tsunoda, Swildens and Antik Batik, as well as Italian brands Ottod'Ame, Transit Par-Such and Campomaggi.

    Leap at 3637 West Alabama

Women's boutique Leap, formerly located on Bissonnet, recently relocated to a brand new store at West Alabama and Timmons. The modern, airy interior fits well with the contemporary clothing, shoes and accessories the store is known for.

With labels like Band of Outsiders, Rachel Comey, Apiece Apart and Zero+Maria Cornejo, the shop offers luxury clothing with an edgy yet approachable vibe.

May is For Miracles Campaign at Chico's and White House | Black Market

This month, Chico's and White House | Black Market launched a campaign to raise funds for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Both stores are selling exclusive, limited-edition necklaces — the "Miracle Key" necklace at Chico's and the "Creating Miracles" necklace at White House | Black Market — for $20 each with $10 of the proceeds benefiting local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, such as Texas Children's Hospital.

These funds support research and training, help to buy new equipment and pay for uncompensated care, all to improve the lives of children.

Heights Candy Bar at 833 Studewood

As one of most recent additions to the area, Heights Candy Bar offers something for young and old alike. The new sweet shop features all-natural candy — made with no artificial colors, flavors or ingredients — and traditional candy (a la rock candy and lollipops), as well as gourmet chocolates from across the United States and Europe.

Check out the new 400 square foot store, open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.

    Hush Puppies Floral Collection

Hush Puppies, known for comfortable footwear, has introduced a new floral collection just in time for spring and summer. The bright floral pattern, replete with blue, yellow and pink, is featured in three shoes: the 'Sasun' pump, the 'Cores' sling wedge and the 'Trave' slingbacks.

The new collection is available online or at such Houston stores as Brucette's, Steppers and Shoe Avenue.

West Ave boutique Sam and Lilli's new exclusive collections includes the 'Brian' blouse from Antik Batik [$281].

FIGS will open its new Rice Village Community Hub on December 6.

Healthcare apparel company FIGS is opening its first brick-and-mortar store in Texas with a new Community Hub in Rice Village. The retail space is designed to serve both as a store and a gathering spot for the city's healthcare community.

The Rice Village location opens this Saturday, December 6, with a public grand opening event on December 13 from 6 to 8 pm featuring giveaways, music, food, and drinks from local vendors. Joining outposts in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and New York City, the Houston location is the fourth Community Hub for the company and the only location in the South.

The store will carry the full range of FIGS products, including scrubwear, loungewear, and accessories. It will also host events and programming focused on healthcare topics, offering visitors opportunities to meet and share experiences.

At the new FIGS boutique, shoppers will find the Color Clinic, offering scrubwear in core colors with rotating seasonal options. The store also has a Customization Station, which provides embroidery for names, titles, practice or hospital logos, and local icon options available only at Community Hubs. Personalization is also available for scrub caps, outerwear, and accessories.

The brand, founded in 2013 by Heather Hasson and Trina Spear, is known for fashion-forward medical uniforms made from a proprietary fabric with four-way stretch, antimicrobial technology, moisture-wicking, and wrinkle resistance. Hasson and Spear began selling directly to healthcare workers in Los Angeles-area hospital parking lots before growing their presence as an online retailer.

CEO and co-founder Trina Spear believes Rice Village was the perfect choice due to its proximity to the Texas Medical Center. She said the company wanted a space that supports Houston healthcare professionals and gives them a place to shop and connect.

"Houston is home to the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical complex in the world, and we are honored to bring a FIGS Community Hub to this city. This space is designed to serve and celebrate Houston healthcare professionals," said Spear. "Our Community Hubs create opportunities for customers to not only shop in a way that never previously existed, but to connect with each other and with FIGS on a deeper level."
