Bold spring colors highlight Brentwood fashion show and luncheon
Neon shades, bright hues and soft pastels filled the runway at the Brentwood Scholarship Luncheon & Macy's Fashion Show that heralded the top trends of the season. More than 1,000 well-dressed attendees packed the ballroom of the Hilton Americas-Houston for the 31st annual event presented by the Brentwood Community Foundation.
Other spring and summer runway trends highlighted in the high-energy fashion show, produced by Lenny Matuszewski and Tamara Bonar, included black and white outfits and innovative use of lace — it's not how grandma wore it.
Lamar Frazier and Mittie Anderson, who again chaired the midday fete, were tickled pink that this year's edition brought in more than $200,000. All proceeds go to the Brentwood Baptist Church scholarship program, which has raised more than $1.2 million for more than 1,200 students since 1982.
The fashionable crowd included Brentwood pastor Joe Ratliff and wife Doris, Brentwood Community Foundation executive director Glenda Hopkins, Joan and Dr. Robert Austin, Terri Gee, Geraldine Walker, Thomas Guerrero, Toni Triplett, Helen Wheatley, Gerald Beasley, George and Mary Ann Grant, and Paul Jefferson, along with Macy's Kristyn Page, Kevan Smith and Chanta Brown.
