Jeremy Scott's mind-blowing “Dalí on molly” collection with supermodel Karlie Kloss is a real trip
What: Jeremy Scott "Cowboys and Poodles" fall runway show.
Where: Skylight at Moynihan Station during New York Fashion Week.
The atmosphere: A favorite of Miley Cyrus and the young, hip Hollywood crowd, Jeremy Scott draws an eclectic crowd to his shows, ranging from club kids to fashion magazine editors. And the runway fashions are just as much fun.
Connections: Who else could get Karlie Kloss to model three looks in one show — and look like she's really enjoying it! At the end, Kloss stood offstage and giggled as Scott took his runway bow.
The look: Pure fun. Scott told a Vogue reporter he was going for a “Dalí on molly” vibe and his clothes have the wacky attitude that sums up his philosophy. Kloss opened the show in with teased '70s-style hair, a faux fur pebble green-patterned coat with yellow patch pockets and go-go boots and closed it in a one-shoulder black mini-dress with pink dots and a faux fur hem.
In between were women's mini-dresses, coats and skirts and men's sweaters and pants emblazoned with a wide range of graphics, from the planet Saturn to musical notes and guitar strings, oversized hairspray cans and dangling old-fashioned telephones, Skittles and Flintstones prints, Ren and Stimpy cartoon figures and bathing beauties on denim, fur and faux cowhide.
Some looks have a rockabilly vibe, but just about all have a "let's party and have a good time attitude" that never goes out of style.
