Cheap Chic
Sexy Jessica Chastain turns heads in a ultra cheap dress at vaunted Oscar VIP party: She went to H&M
Call it the ultimate in cheap chic.
While celebrities attending the exclusive Vanity Fair Oscar Party in Hollywood Sunday wore designer outfits retailing for five figures or more — Jennifer Lopez in a slinky Zuhair Murad gown, Naomi Watts in a Giorgio Armani pantsuit, Lupita Nyong’o in a Calvin Klein Collection gold beaded strapless dress — one A-list star stunned the crowd in a dress that costs less than $300.
While the dress is expensive by H&M standards, it likely was cheaper than the Jimmy Choo sandals she wore.
Jessica Chastain, who has been nominated for an Oscar in previous years for The Help and Zero Dark Thirty, wore a fitted dress with ruffled asymmetrical hem from H&M’s Conscious Exclusive Collection. While the dress is expensive by H&M standards (many items at the fast casual clothing chain go for less than $20), at $299, it likely was cheaper than the Jimmy Choo sandals she wore.
Chastain switched from her Oscar gown — a blue Givenchy creation with an odd black sequined bustline — into the H&M dress from the chain's collection of eco-friendly evening wear made from sustainable materials like recycled polyester, hemp and organic cotton.
A H&M representative says the dress will soon be available at the Houston Galleria and Dallas Northpark locations.
