Houston, we have liftoff! It is official; the Super Bowl is upon us. Which means parties, events, concerts, and shopping! It's no secret that in Texas, football is king. So there could not be a better pairing than Houston and the most important sporting event of the year. But what you wear during the week could either be a touchdown or a flag on the play. We have got your fashion playbook mapped out to make sure you score anywhere you go.

Locker Room By Lids Pop Up Shop

Macy’s at The Galleria has decided to kick-off Super Bowl week by bringing the locker room to the fitting room with a series of in-store events, celebrity appearances, and a 4,000 square foot pop-up as grand as the big game happening this Sunday. With the Super Bowl quickly approaching, it is key that you are draped from head to toe in your favorite team colors.

Pro Football Hall of Famer Jim Brown will greet fans on Thursday (February 2) at 6 pm, while actress and fashion designer Alyssa Milano will make a personal appearance Friday (February 3) at 5 pm to tout her Touch by Alyssa Milano fashion line. Dallas Cowboys great Emmitt Smith will mingle with shoppers on Saturday (February 4) at 3 pm.

The pop-up shop is located on the main floor of the men’s department, and is sure to be a winning moment for family time and fashion.

Mizzen+Main’s Houston Game Day Pop Up

American-made menswear apparel company Mizzen+Main is hosting a Houston Game Day Pop Up at GreenStreet Plaza in downtown Houston. The Dallas-based company prides itself on being a traditional American menswear line full of pastels, clean lines, and plaid prints. Who knows, at the pop-up shop you might run into official NFL brand ambassadors Houston Texans' J.J. Watt, New Orleans Saints' Thomas Morstead, Chicago Cubs' Jake Arrieta, or New York Jets' Ryan Fitzpatrick. The pop-up shop is open through February 5.

The brand is also available at the Nordstrom Galleria store and more than 300 of the retailer's other location.

River Oaks District Super Style Week

Who says fashion and football don’t go together?! If there are any objections, take it up with River Oaks District because they have laid out the red carpet for fashionistas and football fanatics alike.

On Saturday (February 4), NBA All-Star Tracy McGrady and wife CleRenda McGrady host an exclusive preview of Roberto Cavalli’s couture gowns at the Italian fashion house's boutique and celebrate the launch of CleRenda’s book, Push Thru! Redefine and Create Your Own Success Story, at Dior.

Devi Brown and Meghan Cushing, wives of Texans stars Duane Brown and Brian Cushing, are hosting a sip and shop event at Baanou and Alice + Olivia, with a portion of proceeds benefiting their foundations.

Also, ALBA, a Los Angeles-based boutique offering bespoke clothing for elite professionals in sports, business and entertainment, has opened a pop-up shop for one week only in River Oaks District. Shoppers can select custom pieces from a selection of celebrity-owned lines, including Kareem Jackson’s Fly Guy Clothing Co., Terrell Owens’s ProToType 81, and Rob Nkemdiche’s Timeless Generation.

    lululemon Pops Up

Yoga-inspired athletic apparel retailer lululemon will make a brief debut outside The Lawn at downtown’s GreenStreet during the Super Bowl. The brand prides itself on being a mixture of fashion, comfort, and technology to ensure your workout experience is as seamless as possible. From the racerback top, scuba hoodie, and crusher tights, I am a huge fan of rocking fashionable workout gear to game day festivities. Sporty-chic during Super Bowl is a touchdown in my book!

    LAUNCH with local designers

The pop-up shop LAUNCH is open at the the downtown Houston Partnership Tower, so shoppers have the opportunity to find items created by Houston’s brightest and most creative fashion, jewelry, and home accessory designers. The 13 artisans create everything from handmade leather goods to colorful, globally-inspired dresses. Most of the designers chosen for LAUNCH don’t have a brick-and-mortar presence, so LAUNCH is the ideal space to elevate their brands while reflecting the city.

The Galleria gives Red Carpet Treatment

The Houston Galleria is offering an array of discounts, shopper amenities, and in-store events all in celebration of the big game! There are over 400 stores located at the famous Houston landmark, but I have my sights set on the Super Bowl Recharge Lounge located on Level 2 (between Saks Fifth Avenue and The Galleria Financial Center). The lounge features cell phone chargers, refreshments, luxury seating, and retailer giveaways. The lounge is open through Saturday (February 4) from 12 pm -7 pm and Super Bowl Sunday (February 5) from 11 am -6 pm.

For added flair, there are several in-store events happening at Banana Republic, bareMinerals, Jimmy Choo, Sepohra, and Topshop to name a few.

And at The Webster, the chic clothing and accessories boutique in the "jewel box" location just outside the main mall, noted designer Elisabeth Weinstock, who specializes in authentic, exotic snakeskin handbags and accessories, has created two special-edition items just for Super Bowl LI. The watersnake football retails for $1,040 and the watersnake helmut costs $2,165.

The Galleria, as well as Simon’s Houston Premium Outlets in Katy is offering a Super Bowl Shopping Shuttle between each mall and the Downtown Visitor Center (Hilton Americas) through February 4. The shuttle will depart from each property four times daily for $20 per person, round trip. Shuttle riders will receive exclusive Super Bowl coupons and a mall Savings Passports ($10 value). For a full schedule, online reservations and payment, visit www.hgstravel.com/reservations or call 713-722-0395.

Also, METRO Super Bowl bus service is available between The Galleria, the Hilton Houston Post Oak and downtown through February 5 (Pink Route), and from The Galleria, Hilton Houston Post Oak and NRG Park on February 5 from 11 a.m. until midnight (Blue Route). The cost is $2 each way, with service every 15 minutes.

Shop Carolyn Bessette's minimal '90s style at these 8 Houston spots

Thanks to the show, "Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. And Carolyn Bessette," 90s minimalism is back and easy to find in Houston.

Thanks to Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette, the woman who helped define ’90s minimalism is back in heavy rotation. Her classic way of dressing serves as a reminder that great style does not need logos or loud trends to make a big impact. Bessette-Kennedy's uniform of crisp white shirts, perfectly cut denim, and minimal accessories is not only nostalgic, but a stylish blueprint for getting dressed right now.

Houstonians don't need a NYC zip code or a Calvin Klein press badge to recreate her most classic looks. From River Oaks District to Rice Village and the Heights, boutiques are leaning into that same pared-back polish — making it easy to find a quietly expensive aesthetic without overthinking it.

    Accessories

    Lele Sadoughi

Bessette-Kennedy often topped off her casual outfits with a slim tortoise shell headband, and Lele Sadoughi, a boutique in River Oaks District, is leaning into similar timeless styles. The Tortoise Emma Acetate Headband and the Jet Faux Leather Bessette Headband are both available for preorder with similar styles available in-store.

    Krewe

New Orleans-born Krewe eyewear in Rice Village is channeling '90s minimalistic style with slim, small-frame sunglasses that are reminiscent of Bessette-Kennedy's go-to pairs. Its Spring 2026 collection introduces the Kate and Leah styles, each offered in three colorways.

    Fly High Little Bunny

This Houston go-to for one of a kind pieces offers a variety of both fine jewelry and classic sterling silver styles. Jeweled hoops, dainty rings, and minimal necklaces that were everyday staples of Bessette-Kennedy, are available at their Heights boutique.

    Moreau Paris

Often seen carrying a tote bag, the '90s fashion icon was a big fan of understated luxury. River Oaks District handbag boutique Moreau Paris offers a variety of bags in similar styles including the Mini Vincennes Reversible Totes giving a two-in-one option, as well as the Small Ana Saddle Leather Top Handle Bag for a more structured look.

    Clothing

    Tootsies

When it came to denim, Bessette-Kennedy kept things classic, favoring straight and bootcut styles. At Tootsies, the brand DL1961 taps into that same timeless feel. The Bridget Boot High Rise Instasculpt offers a flattering polished fit and comes in a variety of colorways and lengths making it easy to find a pair for everyday wear.

    Alchemia

One of Bessette-Kennedy's most celebrated looks was a basic white button down shirt. She often wore Calvin Klein, as she was a publicist for the brand, but the same classic style can be found at Alchemia. The Essentials Icon Shirt in white is tailored at the waist, chest, and back to give a flattering fit without the dreaded blouse gape.

    Frock Shop

A versatile black midi skirt not only goes with everything, it can be worn during any season. Frock Shop carries the ALC Remy Drawstring Midi Skirt that is easy to style and comfortable to keep on a regular rotation.

    Beauty

    Kiehl's

Used by both Carolyn and John, the Kiehl's Creme with Silk Groom delivers soft hold, subtle shine, and natural movement. Ideal for the sleek low buns Kennedy-Bessette favored as well as polished styles. Kiehl's Highland Village location also carries a scent very close to Kennedy Bessette's fragrance of choice. The Kiehl's Original Musk Eau de Toilette combines classic musk with with soft floral and woody notes.
