The continuing game of "Where Will H&M Open in Houston?" took another turn over the weekend when the chain quietly posted a list of new stores on its website. As the Houston Chronicle first discovered, the trendy, low-price retailer listed a store in Baybrook Mall, with plans to open in the spring.
No other Houston location was listed, although CultureMap has previously reported that a location in Willowbrook Mall is planned. The current tenant list on the Willowbrook Mall site lists H&M, although no opening date is shown. The chain is also scouting out sites in the Galleria area.
Let's hope the store is open by March 8, when H&M launches a collaboration with Marni, the Italian fashion house that is a favorite of the fashion-forward crowd for mixing tribal prints with colorful Bauhaus graphics.
"I wanted to create a true Marni wardrobe by revisiting all our favorite pieces in signature fabrics and prints," Marni designer Consuelo Castiglioni explained in a press release. "As always, I love juxtaposing prints and colors, mixing modern tribal with Bauhaus graphic adding sporty utilitarian elements."
