We still can hardly believe 2023 is approaching — but that's no reason not to celebrate. With that in mind, we've rounded up a few favorite spots that are ringing in the new year.
From fab feasts to posh parties, these destinations will usher in the new year with special menus, flamboyant bashes, and more.

Backstreet Cafe, the River Oaks favorite celebrates with a four-course menu for $85 per person. Guests can enjoy live music and a complimentary sparkling cocktail toast at midnight. Reservations are highly recommended.
Children’s Museum Houston invites kiddos to Rockin’ New Year’s Noon, its long-running NYE celebration for kids. They’ll have the countdown, the ball drop and an after-party. 10 am.
CityCentre kicks off its family-friendly, Noon Year’s Eve celebration. This will be followed by a midday NYE concert, featuring music from Jon Finney and The Mockingbirds. 11 am.
Camerata at Paulie’s gets clever with two festive, pre-New Year’s tasting and pairing classes. The wine bar will be open for NYE festivities at 7 pm. 1 pm.
Houston Art Klub (HACK) invites all to afternoon NYE gathering at the Sonic near NRG. Come and have a sweet treat on beverage on HACK. 2 pm.
Kin Dee serves up a five-course prix fixe menu, with a complimentary glass of champagne at midnight. A live DJ and aerial performances will also go down. 5 pm.
Margaritaville Lake Resortin Conroe will have live entertainment and a champagne bar in the Tower lobby, and a special four-course dinner at License to Chill Bar and Café. 5 pm.
Nobu stays upscale and intimate with a special New Year’s Omakaze menu. For $200, guests can have lobster ceviche sorbet, a sashimi tasting, a chef’s sushi selection, etc. 5 pm.
Fabian’s Latin Flavors will have a good ol’, NYE block party downtown. We’re talking about four music areas, an a la carte menu, hookah, a champagne toast, and so on. 8 pm.
Four Seasons Hotel keeps it posh with its NYE celebration. Hot spot Bandista will start things off with an early-evening party, while Bayou & Bottle will get things popping at 9 pm. 5 pm.
“NYE in the Sky” features an upper-level party, complete with live DJ entertainment, party favors, an open bar (until 11), and an unmatched view of the Houston skyline. 9 pm.
The Continental Club rocks out with its annual, no-cover NYE bash over at Shoeshine Charley’s Big Top Lounge. The Allen Oldies Band will perform before midnight. 9 pm.
Under the Volcano gets things goin' with twang/hillbilly rock band The Texas Turbines ringing in the new year. Of course, there will be party favors and champagne at midnight. 9 pm.
Buddy’s Houston, the popular LGBTQ bar, will be having quite the flamboyant NYE party. DJ Easton will play the hits before and after the clock strikes 12. 10 pm.
