Luxe rideshare Alto rolls out curated holiday light tours in Houston and Woodlands
In a car city like Houston, a jolly drive to see holiday lights (check out our big roundup here) is a time-honored tradition.
But there are always considerations: where exactly to go? What’s the perfect playlist? Is the trip worth risking a potential run-in with someone staring at their phone while driving?
Another pressing question — who gets to imbibe that special, spiked nog or holiday spirit, and who’s the designated driver?
Luxury rideshare service Alto has answered those pressing questions with its inaugural holiday light tours. Users can simply log on to the Alto app and reserve a Houston holiday lights trek, one carefully curated by Alto’s Houston team “based on their expert research and first hand knowledge of the city,” per press materials.
Alto Light Tours are $150 and accommodate two to four users. Light tour times run 6 pm and 8 pm Thursday through Sunday, now through December 21, and last between 60 and 90 minutes. The tours make a for an easy date night, guest tour, or a research-headache-free holiday jaunt.
As for the tour areas, Alto drivers will take users through River Oaks, Tanglewood, Memorial Park and the Memorial area, River Oaks District, and other sought-after destinations. Woodlands tour users can cruise through Carlton Woods and Sterling Ridge and survey the spectacles.
Importantly, Houston users should plan for a pick up specifically at River Oaks District to start the tour. Once the trip is confirmed, Alto will send the exact pickup spot for the light tour. They’ll also credit user accounts $25 for the trip to ROD. In The Woodlands, light tour pickup is at Market Street shopping center.
As this is Alto, expect a courteous, elevated experience, complete with a holiday playlist soundtrack. And since Alto is the designated driver, guests will also receive two to four Alto tumblers to toast the trip with the aforementioned spiked nog, spirit, etc. of choice — for all those good tidings and cheer.
