UT shooting, a new burger joint & high kicks are top CultureMap stories
News travels fast on the Web. So it's no wonder that CultureMap readers turned to our site to find out the latest information about a shooting at the University of Texas. It was the most viewed story of the week and updates throughout the day continued to draw high interest as events unfolded. Many of you told us they first learned about the tense scene at UT from our breaking news bulletin. We will always strive to get important news to you as soon as possible.
Other popular stories were not nearly as serious. Sarah Rufca found the new Counter build-your-own burger bar pricey but delicious. Shelby Hodge found Houston's version of Dancing with the Stars delightful. And Caroline Gallay found fault with the Texans' new restricted tailgating policy, although most readers thought the new policy was long past due.
My favorite new CultureMap feature is StyleFile, where Shelby Hodge and I pick the most stylishly dressed Houstonian of the week. We have a lot to choose from, so during the peak social season, we wlll pick two each week. If you have a candidate let us know.
