Houston goes CSI courtesy of Tilman Fertitta and one very large shark tank
What is it with Houston being robbed of its rightful film roles? We've got a perfectly good Aquarium — complete with shark tank — right here, and yet it's TIlman Fertitta's Golden Nugget Casino in Las Vegas that's getting all the fame in tonight's episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
The episode apparently involves a vicious shark attack in the hotel pool — an attack we think could've been easily recreated here. Perhaps the victim could have been pushed over the edge of I-45, and into the shark-infested man-made river below.
Instead, 150 CSI crew stayed for nearly a week at Fertitta's Golden Nugget, filming 12-hour days. The episode features a Fertitta-type casino owner character, named Earnest Boozell, played by Elliot Gould.
Watch tonight at 8 p.m. for a glimpse of could-have-been hometown glory and to see how well Gould captures our man-about-town Fertitta.
