Jon Hamm's Mad rant: Don Draper gets it backwards on fame whores and porn stars
- Jon Hamm compares fame whores to porn stars.
- Making a sex tape is essential to being a fame whore though. From Paris to ...
- Kim Kardashian to ...
- Kendra Wilkinson.
Jon Hamm is putting the horse a bit before the cart.
In the latest issue of Rolling Stone, the Mad Men star observes: “When you try to learn how to act, you approach it with respect. But if you just want to be famous … that’s not much different than porn. ‘I’m a movie star!’ Well, no, no you’re not. You’re a porn star, and that’s completely different.”
Fame whores are porn stars; porn stars are not fame whores. Come on, Jon, everyone knows the first step to famous-for-being-famous famedom is to release a homemade sex tape. Just ask, oh, Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, Kendra Wilkinson, Matrix spawn or a host of others.
Even the whoriest of fame whores, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, knew they'd have to at least fake the existence of a sex tape to be regarded as serious floozies of fame.
Real porn stars, on the other hand, (I'm thinking the likes of Jenna Jameson) don't need to resort to fame whore tactics for relevance or broker the sale of their own paparazzi pics for quick cash. When you get a cut of your own sex empire, you don't have to stoop to such (fame) whorey tactics.
