Hunky cable TV guys Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen are coming to Houston
Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land has booked two of the most engaging personalities on cable TV: Bravo executive and talk show host Andy Cohen will appear with CNN reporter Anderson Cooper in an unscripted night of conversation called "Deep Talk and Shallow Tales," on December 2 at 8 pm.
Tickets will go on sale on October 6 at 10 am with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.
The Houston show is part of a national tour that Cohen and Cooper began in 2015 as somewhat of a spinoff of Cohen's 2014 book, The Andy Cohen Diaries: A Deep Look at a Shallow Year. In the show, Cohen and Cooper interview each other and take questions from the audience. It's a live, uncensored, interactive look behind the scenes of pop culture and world events.
Cooper is the Emmy award-winning CNN anchor and correspondent for CBS' 60 Minutes who has covered news for the past 23 years. His 2006 memoir, Dispatches from the Edge, topped the New York Times' Bestseller list.
Cohen is the Emmy award-winning host and executive producer of Watch What Happens: Live, Bravo's late-night talk show. He's also executive producer of the popular "Real Housewives" series.
Offscreen, Cooper and Cohen are longtime friends who first met on a blind date. It didn't pan out but they've remained friends for more than 20 years. When The Andy Cohen Diaries came out, Cooper interviewed him about it at a public event in New York, and their chemistry was sufficiently engaging that the concept took on a life of its own.
Cohen has described the tour "like going out to a bar with us, basically, and hearing our war stories. He's at the front lines of world events, and I'm at the front lines of pop culture, and in the middle, we meet."
The charismatic duo will also perform at Irving Music Factory in Irving, Texas on December 1.
