Adele plans sold-out Houston visit, but you can hear Patti Smith's cover of her"song of the summer" now

Eagerly anticipating this October's Adele concert at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion? The English songstress has droves of well-deserved fans in Houston — and around the world —but we're sure she's particularly proud that the legendary Patti Smith has expressed admiration. The writer-slash-musician (who, at 64, has been onstage longer than 23-year-old Adele has been around at all) recently covered hit single "Rolling in the Deep" live in New York City.

While much of the focus on award-worthy movies is put on those that come out in the final months of the year, the release dates for the ones that made the list of CultureMap's Best Movies of 2025 spanned nine months, from mid-March to late December. The one thing they all had in common was an attention to storytelling, with the occasional burst of starpower to put them over the top.
