Degraded and demeaned
A crazy View: Things get physical between Whoopi Goldberg and White Housegatecrasher Michaele Salahi
Whoopi Goldberg gave now-infamous gatecrasher (and new Real Housewives of Washington, D.C. star) Michaele Salahi a piece of her mind backstage at The View Wednesday after the socialite accused the talk show host of hitting her.
What really transpired is mired in contradictory statements from both Salahi's attorney and representatives at The View, but one thing has emerged (relatively) clear: Goldberg didn't actually strike Salahi, though we'd have liked that.
In fact, Goldberg touched the guest to get her attention and redirect the conversation to the one thing that makes Salahi couch-worthy — her White House State Dinner sneak-attack. Backstage, Goldberg was approached by a producer who said Salahi had accused her of hitting her, which put Goldberg on the defensive — understandably.
Even after the producer admitted Salahi never actually accused the host of "hitting" her (she just said the show was "degrading and demeaning," apparently for giving her the public platform she's so obviously desperate for) Goldberg kept right on at it with the startled wanna-be starlet, screaming profanities at Salahi.
The much-publicized backstage blow-up is sure to score this episode some may-jah ratings, but we wonder what would've gone down if Salahi had been there for Obama day.
