Alton Brown on Tour
Food-obsessed author and TV host Alton Brown coming to Houston on book tour
Calling all science-obsessed foodies, one of your heroes is coming to town.
Television host and cookbook author Alton Brown announced Thursday that he will be visiting three Texas cities as part of the tour for his new book Alton Brown: EveryDayCook. On October 3, Brown will appear at Stratford High School via Blue Willow Bookshop for a book signing. Tickets, in the form of purchasing a copy of the book from Blue Willow in advance, are $35. From there, he'll go on to Austin on October 4 and Dallas suburb Frisco October 5.
"This is the food I cook and eat on a day-to-day basis, from morning to late at night and everywhere in-between," Brown writes on Amazon. "There’s still plenty of science and hopefully some humor here (my agent says that’s my “wheelhouse”), but unlike with my other books, a lot of attention went into the photos, which were actually taken with my iPhone (take that, Instagram) and are suitable for framing. As for the recipes, which are arranged by time of day, they’re mighty tasty."
When Brown last visited Houston in 2015 on his nationwide Edible Inevitable tour, he enjoyed coffee at Blacksmith, pastries at Common Bond, barbecue at Killen's, and a late night trip to Pho Binh by Night. Hopefully, he'll make a little time for more dining on this trip.
