Time to Party
WeWork debuts 2 new Houston offices with a big-time bash
It's taken eight years, but Houston is finally joining the WeWork party with not one, but two, brand-new coworking spaces. One is at 708 Main St. and another at 2700 Post Oak Blvd. in The Galleria.
To celebrate its entry into H-Town, WeWork is throwing a free (!) welcome-to-the-neighborhood bash on July 26 from 6-9 pm at the 708 Main location. What can you expect? Here's a peek.
Drinks galore
Bartenders from Sourced Craft Cocktails will be mixing up custom drinks, while Cutwater Spirits is bringing your new favorite picnic-and-pool staple: canned cocktails. Need to wet your whistle further? Head to the bar and take your pick from Nue vodka, Title 21 whiskey, Saint Arnold beer, and cider from Austin Eastciders.
All the food
Roll up hungry, because Uchi will be rolling its fresh sushi onsite. Then cave to those sweet tooth cravings with a fluffy cloud of Twirl Cotton Candy, which comes in such flavors as strawberry lemonade and piña colada.
Fun stuff
DJ Fliphop will be spinning tunes, with Loud Print House screen-printing T-shirts while you wait (psst, they're free for attendees). Snap a professional-looking pic at the Simple Booth selfie station, which will also be sending out a live feed of the event.
Poke around your new office
This is your first look at the new downtown location, so feel free to scope it all out. A bit of history: The Great Jones Building originally housed offices for Texaco when it first opened in 1908, but now, more than a century later, WeWork is claiming it as its first Houston location. A modern layout gets a few Art Deco touches — a nod to the JP Morgan Chase building next door — along with an impressive collection of local artwork. Incredible views, cozy coffee corners, a new mothers' room, and micro-roast coffee, fresh fruit water, and draught craft beer are just a few of the awesome amenities that WeWork members can enjoy.
Make a plan to check out your other new office
Does your company need to be based closer to The Galleria? Not surprising, since you'll find 400 stores and restaurants, two high-rise hotels, and three office towers there. Perched in the tallest of these buildings is WeWork Houston Galleria, which offers teams from law, finance, and tech three whole floors of private offices and coworking space. Though you can still count on all the same great WeWork perks, here you get the added bonus of foodie freedom, with everything from steakhouses to dumpling bars and sandwich shops right at your doorstep.
