Can Ditka save him? Tiger Woods tries for funny in his second post-sex-scandalTV ad
Jet flyovers, cheerleaders, raucous fans, curling and former Bears coach Mike Ditka? Those don't sound like the accoutrements of a golf game.
That's the point of the advertising campaign for EA Sports' new "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11" game. It's a marked departure from Tiger's most recent ad — his first since emerging from his much-scrutinized sex scandal. That black-and-white spot, for Nike, featured a somber Tiger weighing advice from his dead father and created international controversy during Tiger's Masters return. (We found it a little eerie).
But this video, which premiered on the game's Facebook page, displays a sense of humor and lightheartedness we haven't seen in a while.
The spot is part of a dual television and online campaign by San Francisco-based agency Heat. But you don't have to wait for it to go viral — you'll see plenty of it during The NBA Finals on ABC.
