Bandanas get a boost
Former Poison frontman Bret Michaels took home top honors in the season finale of Celebrity Apprentice, beating out runner-up (Hangin' with Mr. Cooper alum) Holly Robinson Peete and securing $250,000 for his charity, the American Diabetes Association.
His win can't come as much of a surprise — the man had a STROKE (after a brain hemorrhage that left him in critical condition for 10 days) and still made it to the finale. That kind of commitment to reality television can be rivaled only by his commitment to his token bandana — which he wore even in his hospital bed.
Tiny Tim wouldn't have stood a chance, and Robinson Peete certainly didn't. Still, she walked away with an equal cash-prize for her own charity.
Michaels, who has two daughters with ex-girlfriend Kristi Lynn Gibsonn, first suffered a brain hemorrhage a month before the finale, which he recovered from remarkably quickly, before having a small (and supposedly unrelated) "warning stroke". He has since been diagnosed with a hole in his heart that has been characterized as operable and treatable.
