First thing’s first: The SNL season finale was last night, and it was epic — Mick Jagger with not one but TWO backing bands (Arcade Fire and Foo Fighters), an appearance from Stefon and this, the absolutely amazing “Lazy Sunday 2”:
While Kristen Wiig got the big public send-off, there are other cast members who made their final appearance in last night’s show, and Samberg is one of them, as the last line of the sketch confirms: “On these New York streets I honed my fake rap penmanship, that’s how it began, and that’s how I’ma finish it.” Let’s all take a moment and mentally thank Samberg (and his Lonely Island co-creators Jorma Taccone and Akiva Shaffer) for changing the way the show approached writing and web comedy, shall we? Ok! Moving on…
