Hasselbeck and OTC hookers top CultureMap's most-viewed stories of the week
The View's Elisabeth Hasselbeck's outrageous "blame-the-victim" comments about Erin Andrews' outfits on Dancing with the Stars drew the ire of CultureMap readers this week while Caroline Gallay's search for high-price hookers in town for the Offshore Technology Conference generated a lot of amusement.
We liked CultureMap managing editor Chris Baldwin's story about how two recent "only-in-Houston" events — the Art Car Parade and Lemonade Day — took on a special magical quality when seen through the eyes of a kid.
My column speculating whether Continental's move to Chicago might help Bill White's campaign (because it might induce some voters to believe Texas would be better off as a "purple" state) spurred a lot of talk, while CultureMap social media editor Fayza A. Elmostehi's commentary on the iPad — "If you have a lap-friendly computer and you have an iPhone (or a lesser version of a smartphone, for those of you holdouts), don't you need an iPad like you need chlamydia?" — bounced around the blogosphere.
